Default Westiside barbell training and RE?

Don't know much about strength training but I have a question about Westside. I was reading an article and Louis Simmons mentioned the use of RE training but I didn't see it in the Westside template. When do they use it?

It is used when they are injured or if they have a bodypart which they feel could benefit from size or post meet to help recover before attacking max effort again. Normally sets of 5-6 and all barbell moves still. Can also be used for max effort lower day when they are in a circa max phase and going stupid heavy on dynamic day.

Great information.
I've seen the Westside guys go really high on RE work when rehabing, like sets of 20s and 30s to get the blood flow.

The other way to think about it is that Westside is about always working on bringing up your weaknesses. If you are not big enough, doing exercises in the muscle building or hybrid muscle-building/strength building rep ranges would satisfy this weakness. If you do not have a Top 100 total you probably need to think about focusing on putting on more muscle rather than on focusing on your selection of ME exercises. So in that vain you could make a case to do some 3x3, 4x4, 3x5, 5x5, 4x6, 3x8, 3x10, 5x10, 3x20 etc work with a compound lift as a way to bring up that weakness. Another take on what RE could mean in a westside template.
