Default Janda Sit Ups

Anyone got a good example video or explanation of how to do these?

I expect Bab's will come up trumps here but thought I'd give everyone a fair crack of the whip

Moi?

I selected this vid because the guy goes into detail as to what is and is not occurring in realtion to a normal crunch. You can get a Janda sit-up gadget but I wouldn't bother, it's expensive and you can get the same results using a basketball between the thigh and calf etc.

There has been some talk that the hip flexor muscles are still not isolated enough to not interfere with the abs to an extent that means the hip flexors are not assisting the move; but, I don't know. I do know they take some doing....enjoy. Use a smaller ball than this guy or alternatively have the toes against a wall but don't hook the feet under anything, that's the secret; once you hook the feet under some object you start using the wrong muscles for the exercise.

Here's an idea you may be able to make use of:

The Pavelizer (seriously overpriced) can be made at home or at least something similar can be adapted:

No problem; I got the book Bulletproof Abs some time ago and they were mentioned in it along with other stuff for the abs, obviously Pretty good stuff but Pavel's books are not the cheapest on the market.

These are amazing! I haven't done sit ups in 6 months because I hate how they pull on my hip flexors but don't work my ab's. These worked my ab's so hard that I had to roll onto my front to get up

Highly recommended

They are fun, aren't they?! I used a barbell with minimal weight on it, and my legs over it) because it came to the right height on my calf muscle and would move if I used too much pressure.
