This might not be what you want to hear but it works, moisturise. More supple skin recovers better.
Me personally I've always had good skin so I've never had to moisturise, it's never been an issue. However some friends of mine who compete in Grip and Strongman competitions recommend moisturising. The better the skin, the quicker it will heal. Dry, rough hands get torn up and heal much, much slower. |

I recommend Versa Gripps for lifts like pullups and rows to take away some of the wear and tear.

Surgical spirits rubbed on to skin will toughen the area up; also ideal for heels, where runners and blisters are concerned etc. If you do get a tear, keep it moist because moist tissue heals faster hence the reason that injuries inside the mouth do actually heal even though we can't/don't put plasters on them; I find the best way to ensure that small wounds stay moist is to use a lip balm stick on them.

Thanks Babs.
@wlfdg, only one a month or so these days. Current "gym" doesn't allow it. |

![]() It's chalk, not battery acid. Chalk and keeping your calluses in check will solve your problem.

I'm a member at Gold's Social Club since its the only thing really within driving range most days. They discourage noise, chalk, and effort. I've checked out a couple of other places, but really can't afford to drive 2 hours a day to a better place. Hoping to put together my own gym at home, but I'll need some time to put the money together.
