Yes, powerlifters can't perform reps. That strength doesn't carry over at all

Time for me to hit 405x20 on deads.

And while they aren't doing these reps, they aren't gaining muscle size either. Poor, one trick ponies they are.

There was a person who joined this forum once who stated that there was no carryover from one exercise to the next. The kid said that if you back squatted 315 for reps, you wouldn't be able to do front squats with much more than 135. I believe he said that strength training, as we do it, wasn't functional.

Wasn't functional!?! Holy Cow! Has that jackass ever picked up a screaming child? 20-45 pounds of vicious angry? I'm not sure a 500 pound deadlift is enough to contain a suficiently angry toddler in full flight. There's no reps for that either, you either do it cold or you sleep in the basement.
