I need to work on low bar squats. Grip has always been my problem as well. Ltl, your hints will be helpful, so I may try again when back get's better.

I'm kinda fortunate with hand placement on the bar because I have two separate standing squat stands so all I need do is place them where they don't interfere with grip placement; definitely a bonus.

Don't gyms have that sort of thing?

The rack we use at our USAPL/IPF meets has uprights that tilt in for wide grip squatters.
