I have never tried any stiff legged deadlifts. I will try them out along with the Glute Ham Raisies and Hyper Extensions. I do heavy lat work with rows (either EZ Bar Bent Over Rows, or DB Rows) once a week. Never have put enough emphasis on my hams though. |

Thats why I like the db variation of stiff legged deadlifts they are way safer to do, easier on your lower back & easily combined with a Romanian deadlift, also performed with a hang, which allows an descending phase with in the movement for power building. Lat work sounds like its in good order.

Um, I'm a new guy around here, so feel free to discount anything I say, but I think there's no reason to ever use a belt or straps, etc, unless you are grabbing huge weights.
As long as you are working wisely from your own natural abilities and building from that, I can't imagine any weight or lift you would need straps. As a relatively new lifter, if you need straps or a belt, the weight is too much. Just my .02 |
