My back is actually my strongest point. I just found that it was mostly my back taking the load with low-bar squats, rather than my legs. With a narrower stance, I find my leg muscles are more fully activated and I can move more weight.

Wide stance = crap squat for me. I squat raw only, i set my width using box squats, i set the box so its sitting like a diamond pointing right between my legs and back up until my heels are roughly in line with the two wider points of the box itself. This typically goes a bit wider than shoulders but not psychotic wide. Really wide squats seem great but without someone to show me whats what, ill stay on the narrow side of injury avoidance
