as long as the tension isnt removed from the working muscle with the cheat movement then i dont see a problem with it.

I agree with Recarp. There's a difference between a controlled cheating, and just plain cheating with horrible form and not actually working the muscle you should be.

I tend to mix it up and have: proper form, explosive moves and slightly less than proper form...but they all depend on the exercise in question.

I will never consider less than proper form on exercises such as deadlifts, squats, RHDLs etc. RHDLs are probably the sole move that I'm in minute awareness of exactly what is occuring in my back even above and beyond the awareness I give to deadlifts and squats, due to the inherent dangers of the exercise.

Explosive moves are used where it's safe and sensible to do so.

Slightly less than proper form, but never way-off form, may be used for the latter reps in a bicep curl etc.

RE: explosive curls... I will have something for critiquing in about 20 minutes.
Maybe people can tell me if it's explosive, cheating, a combination of both, or just
POOR FORM.

But it was a strict press though

I sometimes resort to this sort of thing if I want 2 x 16kg KBs in place in order to begin jerks etc, since cleaning 2 of them at the moment is a bit complex for me.
