Deadlift! People can talk about ATG squats and 1/4 squats in same sentence but deadlift is pure strength!! Its so funny for me when natural trainees talk about getting more weight in squat than in deadlift. For sure, if your squat are 1/4 squats... I mean I can do ATG squats 5x5 with 115kg and deadlifts 5x5 with 160kg...

The reason I started doing these was because at the time my forearms/biceps occasionally would get mild tendonitis and it was a way to add more weight to my rack pull without taxing my arms. Form/technique is really pretty simple, i.e. arch the lower back and keep the upper back tight, that's about it. It's much easier technique-wise than squatting or deadlifting, IMHO ( I guess probably because the range of motion is less ).

This is actually true for me buudy, i have squatted below parallel 150 x 2, but i have trouble breaking more than 140 of the floor in a deadlift, without turning it in to a SLDL... I have pulled 155, but my form was terrible and my lower back was hurting, but squatting i can just seem to do heavier.

My Deadlift sucks

Carl.
