Virtual Meet

Let me start by saying I'm not sure if I'm violating any rules here by posting something about another lifting website. If I am - mods please delete this.

Virtualmeet.net hosts online powerlifting and weightlifting meets throughout the year. Entrants video themselves and follow the instructions on the website for uploading, all the entered lifts are judged and then the meet is "released" by way of YouTube video. I've been a participant and also judged a meet. It's great no pressure fun and a way to gauge your lifts against an international community.

Next meet: 22-27 June 2010 Bench Press meet (two different sessions of lifting-- something to do with a Scandinavian holiday...). It's a raw meet - belt only. I believe wrist wraps are even barred. All lifting is done in shorts and a t-shirt.

For anyone stressing about not having a video camera - I use my cellphone.

The only thing we don't allow is active evangelism to join another forum or lifting group.

I have thought about doing a virtual meet here at MAB. Maybe someday if we get enough interest.
