Quite honestly, when I get over 450 pounds, I can't use much momentum because the weight is simply too heavy.

Power shrugs for me would require a lighter weight - say 315 - focusing on explosiveness.

I like to do power shrugs with 225 or 315 as a burn at the end of a trap workout and do as many reps as possible.

Makes since, I'll give them shot...starting to feel better, it seems to have settled in my chest. All I'm doing now is hacking all day.
