Default Deadlift set/rep range

Hey forum,

right now I'm shooting for 20 reps over 4 sets on the deadlift. I have the feeling that on the last set I'm quite exhausted and can't really go full out anymore. Is this a stamina issue that is worth working on or could I change the reps/sets?

Thanks in advance!

well i would aim for 4 sets of 5 but losing strength on the later sets just happens until you have got stronger to do all sets at the rep limit then add weight, that is called progression.

Depends on the intensity of the sets. What kind of percentage are we talking about, compared to your 1rm?

I'm pulling 120kg but seeing as I don't really know my 1rm that probably doesn't give you much information does it? I'll try a 1rm on the deadlift soon so I have something to base percentages on.

Just checked your log, and i think you were hitting it with 120kg, right? I would say to keep going the way your going, and that you will definitely get tired as the sets go on. If you get stuck for a few weeks not being able to add any reps, then it might be worth taking a look at other rep schemes or diet or sleep or other external factors.

lol, i'm like 15 seconds late with every post here.
