Default Do you have shoulder pain on bench?

A little known secret I found out a while ago on bench has helped me save my shoulders on bench. A lot of people have rotator cuff problems from benching.. this might help you out a little.

Bench press tips from Scott Mendelson.

Training in a "24 hour" type fitness place,i only trust a couple people, who i rarely see,to give liftoff. He makes a good point, but its hard to stay pinched and tight in the shoulders when you have to do all the work yourself.I know several of you train likes this or at home.I have yet to figure out how to create enough tightness after unracking.

And,dudes big.

When I unrack I don't get lifts.. I've got the slide out perfected. I don't push up and pull it over.. I just like swoop it out it's hard to explain but if I get a liftout I don't stay as tight oddly enough.

Try lowering the pins. Get tight with your elbows still bent, then press up straight with just arms to unrack it and bench away.

I agree a liftoff helps stay tighter, but you can still do it if you don't have to reach reach up to unrack the bar.

And dude is big and a great geared bencher, but hand cream, really? Almost seems like a spoof video!

Does his labored breathing throughout his discussion concern anyone else?

Red faced, either sunburned or just finished benching...so, no, not really.

I posted another video on here. He eats 12k calories a day. I mean he does bench over half a ton. He isn't the most conditioned fella but he is freaking JACKED. I will try to see if I can get any vids of my form tomorrow on bench, it's hard to esp at an angle that's decent but I'll show how I stay tight with no lift. I forget who taught me it.
