I think for guys who are squatting a lot, but not seeing much quad size and strength increase, extra quad work is a great choice. You can never have enough back, tricep and quad strength in my opinion.

Thanks for the replies, I'm not really experienced enough yet to know what works for me, so I just want to make the right choice and not choose an exercises that may not be needed.

Yeah, I think that's the right way. Your go-to exercise will generally be the squat and that won't change, but after some years mastering that exercise you'll know when you need to add something else and what that is.
