I just use 3/4" horse stall mats. It works great. Protects the floor extremely well. Since u are a monster deadlifter you may consider bolting the mats to some plywood for added protection.

They should be good until you get your dead lift over 1500!

I'm building this for my Gym..




Material List

3x 3/4in plywood - Base of Platform

1x Rubber mat cut in Half 1/2in - Duh

1x 1/2in plywood for center..- Matches up to the Rubber mating(Adding Grip tape aswell)

2x 8ft 4in long 2''x 2''sq Tubing - Framing

2x 4ft long 2'' x 2''sq Tubing - Framing

3x Strips of 3/16 Steel... Unsure on the width still. At least 2in wide -Goes under plywood from frame rail to frame rail.

4x 1'' x 1''sq Tubing 9in Long - For Band Mounts

4x 1'' x 1''sq Tubing 3in Long - For Band Mounts

Glue and Wood Screws.....

Misc...
Paint and Some Scrap Sheet metal to cap the ends...


These is going into my Work place Gym.. So I won't be the only one using it.. very Few will even know what it is... So I'm building it strong.. Hell work doesn't even know I'm making it...Oh well... Just going to bring it in one night and make a place for it... lol
