Thanks for all the great replies. There were some really good points made that I think were helpful.
And thanks to everyone who wished me a speedy back recovery. It's been sore, especially in the AM, but I was able to OHP today. Tomorrow will be the real test when I attempt to squat. I am not sure what to expect, but I will err on the side of caution if there is any pain.

Did you start with a rep max? Every time Wendler has two main lifts using the 5/3/1 progression, one of the lifts is "required reps only".
.
I started the new lift at 90% of my 1rm as recommended with a new lift when doing 5/3/1.
And I will be doing only required reps.

Based on the replies, I am thinking of three options:
1.) Instead of doing GMs on squat day do them on deadlift day.
2.)Instead of doing GMs, do SLDLs and do them on deadlift day.
3.) Drop the GMs all together.

Right now I'm leaning towards just dropping them. A great point was made that I can't add a whole other exercise and not drop something else. That along with a few experienced guys who said they don't do them for the same reason.
However, I still am somewhat concerned that I will not be getting enough hamstring work. Although maybe I shouldn't be....

I was always fubared after doing good mornings and deadlifts on the same day. If you want to still do them do them super strict with light weight.

I was thinking today. When guys like BendtheBar and Ehubbard advise me to drop something, I probably should listen.
Thanks for all the help guys!

And Fazc. Fazc is an elite lifter and knowledgeable individual. And I am grateful that he took the time to answer my problem and share is valuable insight.

Fazc, I didn't mean to hurt your feelers buddy. Or anyone's for that matter.
To clarify I meant that 2 elite lifters said Good mornings give them problems and that they dropped them. And who am I too argue with lifters that have accomplished so much?
I am sorry if I didn't mention your name. Your post along with all the other posts were very helpful and thought provoking....
Fazc, you too are an elite lifter and I appreciate you taking the time to answer an unworthy recipient such as myself.
I will edit my above post to include your name.

I'm just teasing you Josh Or 'taking the mick' as we would say in the UK.

You've always given and accepted advice very gracefully in my opinion.

To be honest I wasn't sure if kidding or not. Thanks man. Hey I really do appreciate your advise and didn't mean to make anyone feel like I wasn't grateful for taking the time to post.
