I agree with what he has to say in general. I also had a terrible time trying to max week after week. It really beat me down mentally way more than physically. I ran Fazc' 5x 1 program for a couple months and made huge gains as it's a great program, but I was relieved to come off of it I can tell you!
From what I've read of the Cube program, it seems like something that would work for me as I have trouble sometimes gearing up mentally for a 100% effort, and I have had recovery problems from time to time after going all out. If I only had to go all out mentally on each lift only once a month, that would be easier for me and I'm sure recovery wouldn't be a problem at all. However, I think if I was getting close to a meet, I'd sharpen up with some big ass singles like with Fazc' program over the last 6 weeks or so. Just my .02!

Never heard of the Cube Method, nor some of the other methods out there most probably, having said that though, I do agree with him that some things just don't work for some people and instead of just following along with something that isn't working we have to assess what does work for us on an individual basis.
For an unrelated example (true story); an elderly lifter that begins Oly lifting won't necessarily benefit from multiple reps of assistance exercises such as squats due to arthritis, age etc but can still get great lifts working solely on the Oly lifts with a couple of days of gentler, basic BB style sessions thrown in. Things are just not set in stone and thinking our way through and working out how we work best is what gets the best results, at the end of the day; there are plenty of options and methods out there to trial to that end.

What is up guys? Thanks Caitlyn for the support, and yes I will be frequenting this board from now on. I wanted to more but the book killed me. It was difficult to translate ten years of instincts into, how, and why I do things. Anyway, I am much more stress free now.
