My question is: I am less than 3 weeks out from my meet. Should I rest, no push training and hope to recover quicker or keep pushing hard and hope the medicine takes care of it? I am scheduled to train three times this week: tonight (Moderately heavy chain squats), Thursday (Max Effort Bench) and Sunday (Max Effort Squat/DL with GMs). All opinions welcome, even if you're just telling me to sack up (Hazzard). I will update later this morning after I've been to the doctor's.

I'd get the Doctor to rule out anything catastrophic, and ensure you don't feel unusually weak in your body. Once that is done then carry on training as you would normally do.
In the grand scheme of things, I don't think 1-2 hours less of training per 168 hour week will make a massive difference in recovery from a minor illness. Cover up well, avoid stress at work as much as possible, wear a few layers while you train and continue to pound a lot of fluid. |

So I have viral sinusitis. This is being treated with normal antibiotics. I have dosed up on those, paracetamol and ibuprofen and a load of Vitamin C. I am also still pounding whatever food I want rather than backloading. I am not that hungry right now so this helps. Feeling a little better already and hoping to get in the gym and squat tonight.

typical bad timing Al, hopefully this will clear up by end of this week and normal service will resume.
you are one strong mofo so i dont think one or two less than stellar sessions will count in the grand scheme of things. my 2c , do what you can for now , and get a lot of water into you. |

How's your weight now compared to your goal for the meet?
My opinion...meet experience with gear can't be a bad thing. Do it, and don't worry about missing weight if it means keeping up your sanity and strength.
