Default Finding weak points?

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well. Been checking out some powerlifting routines and it seems like they all include assistance exercises to help your main lifts. Well, my question is, how do you find your weak area? For example I want to do assistance work for the deadlift, I understand it works your abs, low back, hams and ect. But how can I tell which area needs more attention?

Thanks,
-Bill

To a certain degree I would suggest working the whole lot. Posting videos of your lifts will help. Max effort singles work best. We can then break them down and see what exercises would work best.

I'll probably hear about this, but, there is something to be said for just working the lifts with a well-rounded routine. I think weak point training is a more advanced option. Weak points will become obvious when they become obvious

Yeah.

If the numbers in your signature are accurate, you really just need more of the actual lifts.

I on the same boat. Work all areas and get them all brutally strong.

When I look at bench type days I want all of the following strong:

Chest
Triceps
Shoulders
Biceps
Rear Delts

When I look at squats and deadlifts I want all of the following strong:

Quads
Hamstrings
Lower back
Hips
Glutes
Core

You can the heck out of progression on the basic lifts for years and years and build incredible amounts of strength with never having to worry about weaknesses. At home point weaknesses will become apparent during this process.

One common mistake I am seeing a lot lately is that guys are weakness training and getting away from rep work while everything is still a weakness and they need rep work on everything.

Make everything as strong as possible, and don't fear using reps to do so.

Thanks for the replys, I guess at my level I dont really need to find a week point to work on but, overall hit the secondary muscles that will help the big lifts. Because, I'm probably weak all over..

@Fazc, yes those are my current numbers.

@HIThopper, Yeah, I'm in the 150lb range but, working on gaining weight.
