Versa Grips were one of my best investments, that and my 11 dollar foam roller. And my rack, and the extra plates, and the inversion table, and.... Well, I don't go without my versa's! Next time I get a discount email I will let folks know.

I do supplemental grip work, wrist curls and dumbell holds. Kroc rows also are awesome.

Not shrugs, holds. pick a fairly heavy DB or BB and just hold it.

Kroc rows are not as important as just improving your overall back strength. They certainly are a good choice, but you want one of your main focuses to be on beefing up your overall back strength from top to bottom with rows, deadlifts, pull ups, heavy trap work, etc.

Point being, you can really use any type of rows you prefer.

I don't think you need to develop a special routine for this. Just keep picking up heavy shit and the grip will come along.
