i used to train for a number of years in karate, kick boxing to computation level,+ dabbled in boxing and have Friends who train and compete in boxing, while training in the martial arts under some high ranking instructors. The weights can make you stronger and Will give you a edge but it wont compensate for soiled fighting skill and it should never replace it neither, allot of old school boxing coaches don't even believe in weight training,as for results back then i didn't do allot of heavy weight training as i was told it would make slow which i know now is bull crap as long as you are doing allot of speed work and flexibility work you will be ok.
