Frequent squatting for me is key. I am squatting 6 days a week most of the time. Every now and then i skip a light day...

Last time i ran mike's program i went from 365-415. Now i'm 15 lb lighter and running it again. I hit 360 with the SSB on saturday so i'm pretty much where i started last time, but with MUCH better form and lighter. I should hit a new PR in a couple weeks. Pulls are feeling better already.

Last time i did 2 heavy weeks followed by 1 light week. It got to be too much for me, but i was doing too much ego lifting and not using my head. If i thought i could lift it, no concern for form or anything else, i did it. Lol. This time around i'm alternating light and heavy weeks. Seems to be the sweet spot. And i forsee progress continuing for a lot longer.

Just wondering what type of squats people are doing on a daily basis?

Particularly interested in whether anyone does wide (or medium-wide) stance squats on a daily basis rather than close stance.

I been squating heavy (Heavy for my strength level) 3 times a week alternating with front squats. So far the only side affect is bigger thighs! and sore legs the next day...

The last month or so I been going with a wider stance for my back squat to try use more hip activation.

I'm interested in what sort of form people are using for their daily squats. How do you squat Bill?

Wide/Close Stance?
High/Low Bar?

And any issues, benefits you've noticed.

Cheers mate.

I been high bar squating with a wide stance. Unless I'm front squating, then my stance is around shoulder width. I'm a taller guy with not much mass in my upper back so a low bar squat isn't comfortable to me.

I felt widening my stance helped my stability and form to a certin degree as well as some explosiveness.

Currently no issues, though I'm still to be considered a beginner; just shy of 6 months training so I'm still learning new things and finding out what works for me.

As far as squating frequently, I felt its helped me get my form down and helped me get stronger through consistency, grinding it out 3x a week.

Hey guys good thread

My squatting has been as follows for a long time now

I squat a max single 7 days per week, constantly rotating between variants. That means I change Bars, add bands, chains or both, pause them and also change stances. I have a record for every variant and I try break that record everytime the lift comes up again. My record for consecutive daily PRs is about 21 days staright or so, Doing this added about 45kg (100lbsish) to my squat in about 9 months, I went from a high and VERY hard 140kg to a legal 185kg, all this was done without tapering and all that other crap. I have been stuck at 185kg for too long so I have changed things up a bit for now. I know that 190kg is there, just gotta go get it.

I squat wide and low bar with wraps for the most part, but I do vary stance sometimes to hit other muscle groups a bit differently.I think squatting extra wide uses so much more muscle than a close stance squat and I really like training a bit wider than normal, it seems to help my pull also. The only type of squat I dont do is Front squat, for me its gonna take too much time to learn and master the grip so I wont bother with them.

For now I am running a smolov Jr for squats with maximal SSB work thrown in on the other days. I want a 4 wheel SSB squat soon!

Will see how it goes
