(While I hope to compete one day for the experience, I do admit it will be some time off.) Just looking for clarification ![]() I certainly see where Fazc is coming from and I would say I am a trainee and definitely not a powerlifter. Guys like him and LtL, Steve and dozens more on here do give up time, effort and $ to do what they love and have my respect. It takes courage to go up to that platform and I hope one day to experience it like I said. And well said Steve. I can only imagine the differences between a gym lift and a comp one. Pressure is high and you don't get much time to make adjustments. As was said before on here: In the gym you lift on your time, in a comp you lift on everyone elses.

BUT what I don't like is some random prick coming on to a thread, and trying to diminish my accomplishments and MY effort by saying it's just the same as what he does in the gym, when he ever even gets to the gym. I don't tread on you or anyone else, so DON'T ****ing tread on me. |

I actually found my first competition to be easier than lifting in the gym, just because my lifting load was so freaking high and fast-paced at the time.
Most people say maxing on all three lifts in one day is the toughest part, but I'm used to the crazy environment.

Competition, while in front of three judges, gives validation to the lift. Not the 1/4 squat, bounced bench, or hitched dl.

I think you can call yourself whatever you like but your point is to those who brag about what they have lifted in their garden shed yet never take the plunge and prove it in a controlled environment right?

I totally agree. Sad part is people don't defend the bodybuilding side but they do the power lifting side. Kind of a double standard there. I know some one will pull the "Book" definition card on me. lol
