Although they motivate me, i feel they are worlds away from me. For some of you who are near my height and weight, what are your lifts before and after. Also if anyone knows any vids of smaller power lifters. Modern, old, amateur or whatever. Just looking for some guys i can relate to. Also how reliable is this strength chart? Im starting to close in on advanced, but is it accurate to the general consensus? strstd. com *edit im not allowed to post urls as i have yet 15 posts |

Checking in. I'm around 5'6" - 5'7" and 150lbs.
When I started lifting (~2 years ago) I weighed 125lbs soaking wet and had no muscle to speak of, although I had been doing some outdoors work when I could; wood chopping, digging, etc. Best lifts from then till now: Squat: 165x5 - 385x1 Bench Press: 95x1 - 235x1 Press: 95x1 - 135x1 (Push-Press: 115x1 - 180x1) Deadlift: 175x5 - 475x1 As you can see, I'm naturally best at pulling. I'm working my press hard right now; trying to get it up past bodyweight soon. As for other smaller lifters, I would suggest doing some research into Sig Klein, Maxick, and other old school lifters who trained before steroids came into prominence; to give you an idea of the extraordinary lifts that can be accomplished naturally.

Sean Demarinis is 5'9" pro strongman and just totaled over 1900 raw a few months ago at around 225lbs body weight (700/470/740 if I'm not mistaken).
Strong guys at your body weight are typically well under that height. Kalle Beck comes to mind. He's a pretty competitive lightweight strongman amateur. 5'6" or so and 180ish lbs. |

I don't really see the point that you're arguing, are you suggesting 360kg Deadlifts will become the norm for people of that size? If so I would say you're dillusional. If that's not what you're saying then clarify your point because most 82.5kg lifters in the world that EVER lived do not have that type of potential. I'm all for not having limitations, but frankly I actually compete and have done for many years. I know what people are actually lifting, not the head in the clouds "I'll do it some day" thoughts that everyone on the net seems to have these days. |
