Default The scary badman of Powerlifting...

The reverse grip bench press!! It'll kill you!! It's dangerous!! A death wish!! It's also a great option to keep you benching when your shoulder's !@#$ed. Anyone do them?

Has always looked like a good way to ruin a good lift to me. In my eyes it borderlines on silly and ridiculousness. But that's just one mans opinion and to be honest I've never tried them. (and probably never will)
Just to clarify, so I don't look like a complete jerk, when I think this lift being done, it is by skinny weak kids in the commercial gym who can't regular bench over 185. So to be fair this lift may very well have its place in an advanced power lifters arsenal. I really don't know. But I will go out on a limb and say that 95% of the guys using this lift in the gym have no business doing it and should just focus on getting there bench to 315 and beyond.

I tried them. Bit of a weird feeling and not comfortable for me.

Tried them. Experience was good. Used it for upper chest. Bit risky but overall good change for a short while.

I tried them and don't like the feel. Hard to unrack, so without spotters they aren't an option for me.

I used to do them but can't say that I really liked them at all, much prefer the regular press.

I love them, its one of the ways of training around an injury. Of course you will always need a spotter, or its not worth doing.

It is tricky to un-rack the bar at first, but after you do them for awhile it's smooth sailing.

I pull conventional and sumo. I squat high and low bar, so may as well practice reverse gripping since I bench conventional. That's my logic anyway.

I run them from time to time. It's one of the few things the Smith Machine is good for. Scorches the peewaddins out of my inner triceps. I couldn't see doing them with real heavy weights or without a spotter or Smith.

Not a bad exercise. Not the be all/end all either.
