Yep. It's fun. haha
I used to do fairly loose-form rows from the rack, but found that having the bar hang after each rep sucked. So I switched recently to doing them off the floor and resetting each rep, which I like better.

I do mine off the floor. Much more upper back feel for me. Not hating on folks that don't. Just stating what I found to be true. I've tried a Pendlay row max and was able to get 405. I found that standing more erect like some of the bodybuilders felt more like a power shrug, meaning the range of motion was shorter and I could use a lot more weight and body english. I tried up to 495 standing more erect but didn't like the feel.

I haven't performed Pendlay's much recently. Hit a 365 single while training with Bruteforce a few weeks back. I did hit a dumbbell row set of 150x42 reps while training with Rich Knapp, and I did 215 x 10 reps a few years back. My back has always been strong. Hence why I love deadlifts.

I always thought with a raw bench, that your max rowing power is extremely close to your max bench. I don't hear much talk about how closely related those are.

Not for me. My rows are much stronger.

Ya, I can row more than I bench too.
