In the past my bench always went up as long as my OHPs were going up. I gave up OHPs last Fall in an attempt to streamline, as I was beginning to think they may not be needed. Again, this post really wasn't about OHPs, but about analyzing my log for changes being made. I missed the important point that my bench started dive right at the point in which I gave up all OHPs. This may not be the cause, but logically it makes sense to add in some shoulder strengthening work to test this.

Just going to throw this out there, but could doing slingshot alone have caused some lack of strength in the stabilising muscles or overall shoulder strength? It's something to consider, using the slingshot for the topmost end of the heavy sessions but doing the rest of the session minus the slingshot.

I can't bench heavy without the Slingshot, but it very well have contributed to weaknesses or instability. When I bench above 60% without a Slingshot I deal with substantial lingering strains that make any form of heavy training, even with a Slingshot, nearly impossible. So it could certainly be the case, but it's not something I can really test. Each time I bench raw I need 2 months of recovery time before I feel 100%.
