Default Can you get too much vitamin C?

I have been taking a lot of vitamin C to ward off colds. I was told that you can take too much vitamin C. Is this true and if it is what are the effects of it?

I think that the extra vitamin C you get is just excreded out the body.

I have taken up to 10g of vit c in one day for weeks at a time. No bad sides other than my wallet got thinner lol. Right now I'm takin 6g a day, been doing that for about 4 months now. Though I will say I know of very rare cases where people get itchy breakouts on there skin from too much Vit C. Just like anything else, you got to assure your tolerence.

A toxic dose would be around 1lb of Vitamin C, so there is almost no chance of taking too much in that sense.

Now, not always will you be able to adsorb a megadose all at once, as other factors must be brought into play for your body to properly use the Vitamin C, but taking 1g or more per day has been shown to decrease cortisol in the body; thereby indirectly increasing your testosterone levels.

And, as you know, testosterone is the granddaddy of all that is awesome.

When i got the flue, I overdose it by taking 2grams every hour. Gets me recovered faster, and the leftovers you just piss out.
