Default Foods that fight fatigue

I crash in the afternoon. I need some good ideas for food that will give me lots of energy. I know that sweets do not work great but what are some healthy options for me to pick from.

Far more involved that we can answer. Share a little about yourself. What kind of work are you doing? What does your diet look like? What does your workout look like? Are you taking any supplements, if so what kind? Are you sick? all of these things can play into fatigue.

Are you drinking enough water? Maybe you are very dehydrated. I suggest eating a handful of almonds in the afternoon. This will help keep your energy up. Or a piece of fruit with some yogurt.

I will add to Bama's questions...what does your eating look like from morning though lunch?

I have found that eating less during the day actually gives me more energy. This goes against the "you must have an amazing breakfast" thinking, but it works very well for me.

I always eat a good breakfast. I love oatmeal, scrambled eggs, or a bigger breakfast. I find that I have more energy when I eat a bigger breakfast and then have a lighter lunch. As BTB stated you have to find what works for you.

To add to what others have put, the body goes through a natural slump around 3pm, the reason why many reach for doughnuts and such, it's just a matter of knowing it sometimes which helps avoid the trap because then you're prepared with good foods at the right time.
