Omega 6 fatty acids
Can omega 6 fatty acids cause heart disease?
I have never heard of omega 6 leading to heart disease. It can lead to some other diseases but in excesive amounts!
I have never agree with this idea. Omega 6 fatty acids are not harmful for heart health. Although excess of any thing is bad for health and fitness. So use it in a safe level.
I know it is not regarded to the starting question, but can anybody tell me some foods omega 6 is contained in at a decent amount?
Oat bran, quinoa, chow mein noodles, butter, imitation cheese, these are all on the list.
They can raise triglyceride levels, so if you already have high levels then you need to stay away from them.

Excess Omega 6 WITH the non-existence of Omega 3s in the diet can lead to and cause inflammation. Inflammation is of course related to heart disease.. so there is a plausible indirect correlation. Optimally you would want to have a balance ratio of Omega 6 to Omega 3. Healthiest is 2:1. Like 2g of Omega 6 to 1g of Omega 3. If you start eating more fish it will help the ratio.. anythings better than the standard american diets stats of 20:1.. very unbalance and unhealthy.
