Default carbs that will fill me up

I want to know what are some carbs that will fill me up for a long time. Seems like I can eat a plate of noodles and within a hour I am starving again. Any suggestions?

When it comes to carbs, quinoa leaves me feeling the satiated.

If your eating a plate of noodles and still hungry you might need to get more good fats in your diet ( avacado, almonds, olive oil, etc..) rolled oats, sweet potatoes and brown rice fill me up and keep me going. Are taking any supplements that might be increasing your appetite?

Whether some agree or not, the rise and fall of blood sugar (and subsequent release of insulin), has a lot to do with being hungry after a certain time post meal; how fast/slow depends on what type of food/carbohydrates were eaten.

Fibrous foods (insoluble and soluble) swell in the stomach as they take on blood/water in the stomach, and make you feel full, and takes a bit longer to digest as compared to non-fibrous foods. When looking for bread for example, you could pick up double fiber bread, which can sometimes have up to 30 grams per serving (2 slices), and leaving a balance of about 8 or so carbohydrates. Oatmeal and brown rice are good. If you eat simple sugars (which "some" can cause a rapid rise/fall of blood sugar), eat it with other fibrous foods or protein, and this will erode the rapid rise/fall syndrome. I am not all that surprised white noodles causes you to be hungry a few hours after eating them.

Noodles make me hungry 20 minutes after I eat them.

Chillen is right, fiber is king.

When I lost most of my weight (in my first goal attempt), I would eat raw oatmeal with a glass or two of water, and feel full for hours. LOL.

I mean, its simple. You add a water to oats, and let it stand for a few minutes, and it swells/expands double its size.

I agree 100% with the "more fibrous carbs and good fats."

Chillen is spot on. Simple carbs don't satisfy, which explains why we are hungry so soon after sushi or chinese. All of the suggestions made are good. Good fats, fiber and protein will leave you more satiated than simple carbs.

I explain is like this. Think of the fire in your fire place. Paper (a simple carb) is a good starter, but is burns fast, does not produce much heat and has to be replenished often. Get you a good hardwood ( fiber filled carb) and it will burn longer and hotter, not needing to be replaced as often.

quinoa, oats, brown rice, sweet potato will all help. When I eat bread, I love the double fiber bread that multiple companies are putting out now. I think 2 slices are a total 10 net carbs.

Here is a quick minute flax muffin recipe:

1/4 cup of ground flax meal
1 egg
1tbs of butter
1/2 tsp baking powder
packet of stevia, splenda, sweetener of choice
cinnamon to taste

put all in a coffee MUG, mix well and then nuke for between 1 and 2 minutes, depending on microwave. Will rise up like and then drop once heat is off. Will make one filling flax muffin great with eggs in the morning. Filling too.

I didn't know that! I'm going to have to give that a try.
