Thanks for posting that. I'm currently enjoying the benefits of IF dieting. Even as I transition into maintenance mode and end my cut, I'm still going to be IF'ing.

I thought it was interesting, more for who wrote it than what was said. He really didn't say anything in the article that Martin at Leangains or Pillion and others haven't already said. The fact that one of the "diet gurus" would not only research the subject but also give it a fair run through was impressive to me. I haven't read his full report yet, look forward to doing that in the coming days.

IMO, nutrition is very similar to weight-lifting in the sense that a lot of different methods will all work to get you to a common goal. Some being more extreme than others.
I see a lot of people knock diets and theories others have, and its mainly because it doesn't abide by what they believe to be the best way to go about things. Realistically, there are MANY different ways to tackle the same problem, and succeed in the same goal. Health and nutrition is not as open and shut as many choose to blindly believe.

Being a tweener myself (using a variation of IF and Paleo), I have a long history with all sides, and believe there can be a season for everything. Wesley Silveira said it best (paraphrasing) when he stated that he was simply tired of choking down multiple meals each day. It got old after many years. I have never seen a bodybuilder, figure competitor or fitness model fail using frequent feeding, and I work with armies of them. But on the other side, I think intermittent fasting can work if you listen to your body and adjust properly. What I do not personally like about it is that it's not a realistic lifestyle for me; I do not wish to maintain a life of never eating during the day. Most humans naturally graze, and I am one of them. I have seem proponents of IF attack frequent feeding as not normal, or contrived, yet I have watched nearly every human being I know for the last 25 years snack/eat 4-5-6 times a day. Sure, I understand the idea that "the supplement companies want you to eat more protein", but we can't shy away from eating more protein just because we want to rebel. My only point is that if you're going to snack, protein, fruit and almonds makes a lot of sense. Anyway, before I get in to deep and get everyone mad at me... I try to maintain a neutral view. Personally I don't care what anyone does. This is not life or death, and most of us aren't competitive bodybuilders. People like to eat, food is life, and hard and fast rules are bondage to me.

I agree, there are no 'hard and fast' rules. Just eat the way that feels confortable to you and gives you the progress you desire. I believe at the end of the day it's the total calories that matter and not when you take them in.
