Natty P/B or Almond Butter is out standing in a diet for the GOOD FAT intake.
Can never be a mistake. Just a mistake to eat to much.

My personal priorities are always:
1) Removing white poisons. 2) Limiting heavily processed foods. 3) Minimizing grans and legumes. I think if you have the first 2 covered a little PB isn't that big of a deal on a semi-Paleo. I would go the natural PB route, or maybe even consider a natural almond or hazelnut butter if you want to lean more Paleo. Overall I think the eating plan looks good.

Thanks guys, I am not too worried about keeping it paleo. I just want to stay away from processed crap. My biggest thing on Paleo was just not getting enough calories to gain weight. This is why PB came to mind, but I will check out some of the other spreads too.
I am using more methods from Better Than Steroids really than Paleo. I feel that if you drop carbs as the day goes on you can stay pretty lean while putting on weight. I want to bulk but do not want to go extreme. Slowly gain some weight and see if I can put on some mass. One other thought is to replace oatmeal with a sweet potato with lots of butter and cinnamon. This may be a better option, since I only like oatmeal when it is full of sugar.

Sorry I didn't know you were on a specific plan, brain fart on fully reading the post. I retract my post because I know nothing about the paleo diet.

Have you considered including coconut oil and coconut milk? These two products are fantastic to add calories and keep it healthy.
Coconut milk is absolutely delicious, and very versatile. One of my favorites is coconut milk soup (picked a random recipe for it: Cooks.com - Recipe - Thai Chicken And Coconut Milk Soup (Tom Ka Gai)). I cook Thai quite a bit for fun, and I'd be happy to offer more recipes if you'd like. Almond butter is also a great solution, and paleo friendly. |

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. I think coconut milk could be a key to gaining weight and using paleo. I will have to purchase some of this and try it out.
Thank you for your sample diet, I think I could do that.

With the Peanut Butter, Rich is right. Just don't overdo it. Peanut butter is a trigger food for me. I can go forever without it, but once I get the taste, look out. Good luck, sir!
