Read the book Nutritional And Physical Degeneration by Weston Price. It will challenge your idea of healthy eating.

I need to get hold of that book. Another interesting read is The Metabolic Typing Diet by W.L. Wolcott.

It appears that the type of food suited for one need not be suitable for others (quite logical). If anything, to some extent, the preferred diet type can be correlated with Geographic locations. E.g., Asians (esp. South Asia) seem to handle carbs much better, while Europeans and Americans seem to handle a protein rich diet better. I would guess a lot of this has to do with centuries of enduring a certain type of climate.
