I use BCAA's whilst training as i train in the AM and cant train if I glug a shake down (or milk, or food whatever) within about an hour as it just comes back up.

I could be wrong, but they really seem to work as an intra when training fasted

Carl.

I believe they are helpful when fasted. They definitely helped me retain muscle when going long periods without regular meals.

BCAA's when taken in with more then 3g's of Leucine (amino that triggers Protein syntheses) will keep your body in protein syntheses for up to 4 hours.

For this reason I take a serving with 3 to 4g's of Leucine ASAP at wake up to kick start the process, intro work out and at bed time.
I don't worry to much about the other 2 as long as the brand has a 2-1-1 ratio. 2 being the Leucine. Thats the smallest ratio it takes to make the Leucine activate and be effective.

BCAA's is one of the only supplements I use all year long. I think they are so essential to being your best.
