I'm here to learn, like most legit MABers. But if you want to tell me the soy protein isolate I have been taking for the last year is bad for me, you better step up with some hard evidence I can relate to. And before you start spouting some Paleo-lithic fad pseudo factoids at me, know that I am well versed in human immuno-biology and am a prime example of what can happen when a person ingests too much concentrated dairy-based solids. And... GO! |

If it works for you the go with it. Whether someone else dislikes it, or thinks its bad for you doesnt matter. If YOU are happy with it and are making gains then its all good buddy. Every argument has a counter argument in this game.... Deep squat or not/high carbs or not/ high fat or not/ soy or not. Its all reletive buddy ![]() CArl.

Why? Your mind is made up. Why don't you share with us the studies and benefits you have found? Who knows, you might even help some of us out.

I feel that when subjects like this are raised, it's important to make clear that it's not necessarily a free choice but a forced choice; even though the info obtained from studies will prove one way or another as to whether milk or soy is better/equal, or there will be studies which back both arguments, a normal thing in studies...it means people will read the info in a different light.
If someone just states soy works (even if it does) the fact that a person is intolerant or even allergic to milk itself puts a different slant on how people will react to and ultimately accept any info being given.

Here's an interesting article, probably worth reading Bodybuilding.com - A Case Against Soy!
I'm not going to assert either or, I personally avoid the stuff and get most of my proteins from eggs and meats anyway. As a simple supplement (no more than 2-3 scoops a day), I doubt the negative consequences would be perceptible at any rate. |

Carl, Bam and Babs, you all express legit standpoints, and you all deserve responses on this subject. The above link is to a thread started by our Chief BendtheBar, but attributed to me. While I do not have any problem with Steve creating this thread, I have noticed a distinctly negative attitude toward soy specifically in recent days. I would like to continue any discussions on the thread linked above, and I admit I created this thread in haste. In fact I had no need to start a thread; Steve did it for me already. Most nutrition sources I have read have nothing to do with Paleo. Just because I am exploring Paleo, and don't like soy doesn't mean they are intertwined.I never push a belief on anyone Abs, but there is a mountain of info from a vast amount of nutritional sources that warn against soy consumption. That should be reason enough to explore and make up your own mind. I have made up my own mind, and from my research, I have found no worse found on the planet that we consume regularly than soy. I have no interest in verbally jousting anyone. If you are confident in your research, then enjoy. I am confident in mine. http://www.healingdaily.com/detoxification-diet/soy.htm http://articles.mercola.com/sites/ar...ur-health.aspx
