Default "Isn't That Bad For You?"

Talked to a friend the other day, and the topic of lifting came up. He noted, "dude, you look a lot bigger." I told him about my routine and my diet. He asked me, "dude, isn't all that food bad for your liver?" (I type this out as a question, but the way he said it was more like a statement: he was telling my that my diet is unhealthy) Then when I told him how much water I drink -- which is really a ridiculous amount -- he said "dude, too much water is bad for you."

This guy is 5'6" - 5'7" and looks like a bag of bones.

yeah hah. i think he was trying to find a way to pin the "unhealthiness" to something specific so that he could sound knowledgable. i was dumbfounded and wanted to prevent an argument, so i just stopped talking (and listening).

We live in a crazy world. Exercise is bad for your back, protein will rot your kidneys, meat will cause your heart to explode from back pressure, and people continue to sit on their butt eating junk carbs so they can remain healthy?

I love this vague, non-committal statement that people will inevitably pull out of their butts when trying to sound convincing.

Too much of anything is, by definition, too much! So what does that statement actually offer in a conversation? Absolutely nothing!

But, but what of all the studies? Sheeple, listening to sheeple.

If I like strawberry ice-cream and you like mint ice-cream, should we really insult each other over it? It's fine to be different, to start insulting and aggravating people who are different is the root cause of many problems.

Not just in the queue for the ice-cream van.

Gee, I thought the who point of this thread was fact, not what some may like or prefer.

I consider the way I eat to be superior to what most do. You see listening to what the studies, most people and what the government had to say about nutrition left me overweight, diabetic, with terrible blood work and in pretty poor health over all.

Personally I find it insulting, that they keep pushing their bs on me.

I feel better now at forty four than I ever have. I looked outside of the box and am better for it.

If I offended you.........sorry. If I aggravated you excuse me.

I wonder why you did not find the following quoted comment to be insulting?Or is it just me?
