I use both. Shake to start the day, one or two more throughout the day, whole foods when schedule allows and finish the day with either sludge or a shake. I count sludge as a shake.

It has been said that Whey is the superior source of protein due to the advanced amino acid profiles. I have 2 shakes a day and 3 meals myself. I have gone days with all shakes for protein.

I do a Whey Protien Shake at least twice a day ... upon waking and post workout.
Tried to do a pre work out- but I think I did it too close to gym time and felt sick while lifting.

A few a day but my diet is not strictly shakes. I like to eat way to much to have 50% of it come from shakes

Both! PRE-I love having a protein shake mixed in coffee with a banana, POST-pro shake mixed with rice milk and cream of rice (it's thick but really good!) Midafternoon between meals another shake in water.

It's a little late, I know. This is a part of Keifer's newer thinking I don't 100% agree with. The first incantation of CBL was to skip B-fast, yet still squeeze in 4 solid meals plus a post training shake, no carbs till post training, or 5pm depending on your goal. The whole point was to have as small an effect on blood sugar values as possible. Shakes, regardless of macros will hit you faster than a whole foos meal of the same macro profile. I also don't really know if you are dealing with him directly, I know he has our boys do things that kinda contradict the book on occasion.

I have one 1200cal weight gainer shake a day, maybe two on training days.

I also have my home-made "nasty shake" 2-3 times a day. Always together with breakfast and at my 3 o clock break at work.

Nasty shake is:

0.4l of whole milk
3 table spoons of instant chocomilk powder
Sometimes 10 grams of creatine mono
4-6 raw eggs.

When hungry and in a hurry I add a scoop or two of chocolate weightgainer powder to it aswell.
