Sorry, can't resist. Every time I post butter on my Facebook wall, 7 people drop over into comas, and cries like those above are had.

Don't think I'd wanna eat it quite like that though ;) but thick butter on warm toast or melting and dripping off warm crumpets :chow:

How could they even make fried butter? Would it not melt all over the place?

No, you can get fried ice-cream as well; it's battered first and then fried for just the right amount of time so that it doesn't get to the point of melting until it's removed from the frier and onto the plate, so you still end up with cold ice-cream in a hot batter.
