Default Alcohol

Will alcohol interfere with my training? I need to lose a few pounds around my waist, and wondered if it would interfere with me losing the fat.

This question is asked often on the forums. It sure isnt going to help you... lol. Beer has colories, so by that alone, cutting calories should lead to weight loss. Theres stuff that shows alcohol has properties that are counterproductive to weight training, but i couldnt tell you. If you're having a beer or two, i dont really see it destroying your goals, but if you're downing a 6 pack every night, i dont think uou're going to look your greatest....

I know carbs and protein are 4 cal/ gram, and fat is 9 cal/ gram. Alcohol is 7 cal/ gram. Wouldnt thalt mean its more dense than carbs and protein, but less dense than fat?

Anyway you look at it though, its unnecessary calories and cutting it out would only help the op's fat loss

The body processes alcohol before it processes fat because alcohol is considered a toxin to the system, so if you'd rather your liver processes alcohol and takes it's sweet time processing the fat...
