That is a can of worms debate. My response is in no way scientific but experiential.
I was diagnosed with low T about 2 years ago. Doc put me on Androgel but I only used it until finishing my first refill. The more I read about it, the more I decided I did not want to deal with side effects. Add in that my wife wouldn't touch me for fear of growing a mustache, I dumped that stuff! I began doing a lot of reading on settled on a few items that have helped. My last T test, was up into the normal ranges, though still on the low end. I began taking about 5000 IU of Vitamin D3 (be sure to keep a check on D levels, as you can over do and cause other problems). I then began reading about D-aspartic Acid. I am on my third cycle of DAA with D3 cut back to about 1500 IU a day. I have noticed some positive effects. I began to lose some of the stubborn stomach (viseral) fat, once I started the DAA. Strength has been good and libido is up. I am finishing a cycle of DAA and Triazole (an anti-estrogen) and am please with the results. IMHO, the natural options are a lot like the creatine arguments. Some folks are responders, some are not. All I can say, is research and then give it a try, research is the operative word.

If you're going to try DAA, get it now while you can. A patent was recently issued to the "inventor" of DAA, so shortly most products will dissappear, as they won't want to pay the royalties. Some will stil be there, but the royalty cost wil be passed to the consumer for sure.
Just get some bulk DAA, cheap and effective. PrimaForce D-Aspartic Acid - Backed By Scientific Data! That's a really good deal with the extra 20% off. I might grab that instead from my other regular supp store. Primaforce is good stuff. I usually go with 3-5g a day, either in the A.M., or before bedtime.

I've experimented with several and had noteworthy benefits. Like Bama, my results are purely experiential, so take them as such.
My test levels have com in around 97 to 227 over the last few years. I decided to try test boosters, and noticed improvements in libido. The improvements were twofold: 1) Improved morning drive, if you know what I'm saying. This had all but disappeared for 10 years. 2) Improved erectile function - not as flaccid. For me these benefits worked best when I ran a booster 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. I have been told my benefits are purely placebo, and that test boosters never help anyone, ever, but I do not believe either of these statements. I think they are worth exploring if someone has low testosterone, poor sleep habits, is very overweight, is stressed or depressed, etc. They are not magic, but they may help smooth out the speed bumps (dips in low T).

I have been taking AAEFX Test Charge for over a year now. As far as muscle growth and strength? Just ask the kids 1/2 my age I out work and out lift. I'm 46 and still growing.

My evidence is completely anecdotal, based on my own experience. I have only taken 2, propadrol (a prohormone) and T-Bomb II (a free test booster). I felt nothing different and certainly could not attribute any PRs to the propadrol. With T-Bomb hoowever, I feel the need to experience "full release" at least 2x a day so I am inlcied to believe that T-bomb works. But, again I have never taken a supplement that I can directly attribute PRs to.
