It takes about 3 months for the body to replenish iron, according to a doctor; so, you may only need a short course of meds to bring the iron count back up.

In addition to what 5kg said, black strap molasses (the real stuff, not the pussy Wal-Mart knockoffs) is pretty high in iron: 4.5mg per tbsp.

I'm no doctor, but you might want to find out why you have a low iron count. From what I understand, internal bleeding (colon polops) can cause it. Might be better to find the cause and fix it, rather than trying to raise it. Giving blood can lower your iron too.
