I'm already much stronger than the average dude, even the average gym-going dude, so now it's time to get shredded. That being said, when someone is starting out they need to lift big and eat plenty to keep up with the lifting so they can build some real muscle. Once you've got some muscle, strip the fat away and reveal the body you want.

Here's my take:
I agree with you that there's nothing wrong with wanting to see your abdominal muscles. However, almost every time I get asked a question relating to the subject, its from a kid who weighs like 130lbs and could use nothing more than a big ass 1/2 pound burger, a big glass of milk and a bar to go do some deadlifts. And I simply won't support that.
