Training through pain
I have heard no pain no gain a lot. Is this true or do you think that you should not work out when you are injured? I Have sprained my ankle and this kept me running the past few days. Just made me wonder if anyone on her believes in that phrase.

I believe there is, generally speaking, two kinds of pain:
1. Sharp pain. 2. Aching pain. 1 means stop what causes that pain and find out what's wrong. 2 means the name of the day probably has a y in it and you need to man up and move on. Barely a day goes by where I don't have some 2 pain going on. Luckily 1 is quite rare :) LtL |
Pain from soreness...keep training.
Pain from injury...let it heal and train around it. |

Yup. Dont run on a sprained ankle, you risk doing more damage. If you're sore and beat up, evaluate how bad it is and make your decision from there.
I train through pain, but stop (usually) if I feel like I may be damaging something. |
