I generally have a protein shake after a workout simply because a good workout leaves me ravenous, and it's generally an hour drive home. None of this bro-science mumbo-jumbo for me.

That's about how I do things. Have a shake then east an hour later. I always ate biggest after lifting because I was hungry.
