Another thing I might add is goodmornings. They aren't hitting your "core" as direct as some movements, but they still hit it hard along with your posterior chain.

Something else to keep in mind. Make sure you are always pulling your abs in tight when you exercise. This will engage your core.

YES! When I squat, bench, press, whatever I do I always squeeze my abs tight. I find it helps me in so many different ways.

Great advice blackjack.

Maybe the oceans will turn to beer & the oxygen into marijuana smoke. Or maybe the banking sector will get destroyed & money will therefore be useless, meaning that humans can live as creative individuals with the opportunity to express themselves freely. I truly hope so, as long as I can still play music & lift weights!

Something that I like to use is a ball. I can do many exercises on this to make my abs feel the workout.

everyone is talks about how you need to do compound lifts, squats, deadlifts, and core exercises. But one must actually know how to incorporate/activate their abdominal muscles and lower lumbar.

Performing core exercises like leg raises and all the other abdominal exercises, one must also know how to actually use their abs in order to perform the movement. There's a different between doing a sit-up, and then actually DOING a sit-up.

Hope this all makes sense.

Standing tall will help as well. This will engage your core muscles.

Pulling the abs in tight is a great visual but some will interpret that to mean "hollow" vacuum style abs, so bracing the abs may work better as a cue for some.

Right.

A full and tensed belly of air will serve you much better, rather than a vacuum.
