Some people just worry too much. It is recommended to try to get 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. Although some bulking recommendations will go as high as 300 grams a day. You'll be fine at 1 gr per lb.

^ He's 100% correct around 1-1.5 grams per pound is about what you need. Right now I get in the high 200 grams of protein and I'm fine.

I have 10% or so scarring damage to my kidneys from an autoimmune disease I had as a kid. I take in from 200 - 350 grams of protein a day and have no issues with it in my quarterly blood/urine tests.

I really would concentrate on just establishing good, healthy eating patterns. That means a hearty breakfast and a further 2-3 large meals with a healthy balance of proteins, fats and carbs.
Extremes aren't sustainable and aren't necessary to begin with. Getting into a good routine of eating good food regularly IS important. |

I do want to point out this its anecdotal evidence only. I'm only one case, and its only 3-4 tests a year. You might be able to make a case study out of it, but it doesn't compare to a double blind placebo controlled randomized study done by people who know what they are doing. That being said, yeah, its pretty good evidence that it won't kill you immediately.
