Thing is,sometimes i feel my triceps so hammered from thwe bench pressing that i think they help me in w way to cheat from using the pecs.Should I do some more technique work,and maybe some isolation? Or just focus on it as it is? my cgbp is near to my max bp.i can gor 100kgs for 5 reps. |

Hi Embrace,
You are making progress so things are fine. It's normal for the triceps to feel hammered during press work. As long as things are moving along, I wouldn't worry at all. Isolation chest work won't help much. In addition, you don't need chest-focused assistance work in bench press programs. You are better off focusing on shoulder, back and tricep strength. Most people think they have lagging chests because we live in a chest-obsessed lifting culture. My CGBP isn't that far behind my bench either. Strong triceps are a great sign. If you are worried about them overpowering the bench leaving you with underdeveloped pecs then I recommend adding dips, dips and more dips. I guarantee if you continue doing what you're doing you will have both amazing bench press strength and solid chest size.

Thanks for the input.I am currently running a 6 week challenge for both me and a client of mine,called 6 weeks to Hero status.I am on day #2 and at the end will post results for all here to see.Wish me luck.

Not wishing to put a dampener on your current course but in 6 weeks you will not see any major changes. Run the same thing for 6 months.

The major thing i want is visible abs.That can happen along with a performance boost as I am cleaned up my diet.I have done it in the past in 4 weeks,now with 2 extra weeks it will be awesome.

Your chest will develop just fine with the bench press, but you could try Dumbbells as sometimes they can be better for building the size of the chest, all depends on the person though i think, so mileage may vary.

Sounds like a good plan. I had to ask because often people will say they are eating better but don't have a solid direction.
