Thats what I thought also but listened so if others talked I'd know the ins and outs. Sounds like they are going to start talking behind closed doors till they iron things out to prevent rumors.

I know dealing with the top dogs at INBF/WNBF setting up the w/c class. They are open and want to move forward with the sport.

I simply am predicting it won't happen. I see both sides willing, until they start splitting hairs.

I don't mean to sound so cynical, but bodybuilding and powerlifting federations are like Christian denominations. They don't agree, but tolerate each other.

Several years back the Lutherans in Wisconsin held a unification meeting, but it dissolved quickly during the opening prayer when they couldn't tolerate the other side's dogma.

My personal view is that unification will only happen if there is enough money behind it, and I don't think there is. No one cares about natural bodybuilding as it is. I know that sounds harsh, but I just spent the last 2 years of my life promoting it, and the lifters, and no one reads the articles and interviews other than the competitors and their relatives.

I think it's a great sport and all, but the general public just has no interest in it right now. No interest equals limited money. And without cash, the motivation simmers below boiling, and the incentive to move away from splitting hairs is minimal.

I hear ya. This was different from back in the early 2000's they are even getting the people who do the testing involved. Sounds like there was some miss communication by the tester years ago that started this whole thing.

They both use the same tester but got 2 different stories from them for the band list. Its a pretty good lisson when you have time.
Just geuss I am hopeing.

As far as Money. All the natural fed handed out together as much to there pro's as the IFBB did last year. I never would have geussed that. That floored me.

IFPA & WNBF combining together would certainly solidify things some, gonna listen to the podcast and see where that goes, to my knowledge something like this was going to happen a lot further down the line. IMO, WNBF has the greatest caliber of athlete's as far as superb conditioning is concerned AS A WHOLE, but World's and the Yorton are equally as impressive. Combining the two and opening up the playing field so that the big guys of each league could share the stage would definitely bring exposure to the sport.


At the same time....all the light cast on it would raise a lot of suspicion to the untrained eye and these things would have to be ran very smooth, especially the drug testing in order to keep the reputation up.

I think as a whole it is pretty far away, if ever, for natural feds to 100% support their athletes, but some of the top prize money is getting pretty damn close. Regardless, I don't think bodybuilding should be a full time "job" at all, just something to support your lifestyle. And raising the prizes more than they are will up the ante and get NPC-type guys trying to cross over. IMO they should raise the 7 year drug-free limit...I'd love to see life-time drug free but I don't think there is any form of testing to solidify that, minus a past competitor's competition history within the organization.
