I just wondered everyones veiws on this. I have always believed that women should definitely do more strength training/muscle building as it will help more in getting the desired 'look' that most women want that cardio would. Maybee i am wrong, but, with exception to the naturally lean, most women with very good physiques have tended to resistence train in some form or another. Carl.

Whoever said that is WRONG!!!
I have my Wife doing a basic DB version of the Reeves, and she is making good progress. Women should be doing heavy strength work relative to their strength level. It is hard enough for a man to build lean mass, even moreso for women. Endless cardio is not the answer. |

Can you post up why the person you're talking thinks it's wrong?
I'd like a good laugh right now. No, but really. What are the reasons the person gave? Is it the lifting heavy thing? Cardio alone won't get women that desired body. There's plenty of examples of women who lift heavy and do routines like this. Stumptuous.com is a site for women lifters. Crossfit is great for women. And my personal favorite example is Jamie Eason. These are my thoughts too... i think women would do equally as well as men from a good fullbody or 5x5 routine. Thay aint just for bb'ers or powerlifters

Personally, I feel a female benefits in much the same way from every routine that a male can/will do; true, they won't gain "loads" of lean mass which is great...double bonus for us
I cannot understand anyone who tries to categorise weight training routines, of any sort, into male and female subdivisions...unless, of course, they are just trying to make it complicated and mystical.

Nice to see you all are agreeing with this "concept" I've been arguing for months trying to get my wife to understand this as I've been pushing her towards this routine instead of "endless" cardio
